Does anyone know what an approximate front sight height should be for a 20" barrel 1894 Cowboy .44mag with a Skinner Express peep sight mounted in the rear?

I am thinking of using a front sight with the Skinner Express that is not "file-able" and would like some input from anyone who might have experience with this.

Hello Scout,

One of my customers just reported putting an Express on his 94 20" Octagon shooting heavy bullet loads and being spot on with the factory front sight. Typically we suggest about a .125" taller than factory front for a .44.

I know the "non Fileable" sights reduce your options.

Best way to get the right height is to install the Skinner "Express" and shoot it with your factory front. Then make calcuations from there.

Please let me know if I can help.
