I recently inherited what I believe a Marlin Safety 1893 30-30 with octagon barrel. Looks like a 26". There is a six digit serial number starting with 404xxx. Can anyone tell me about what year this might have been manufactured and possible value. It has a rear tang site as well. Any help appreciated. The gun is in pretty good shape but it needs some cleaning. Was in closet for many years. Thanks again.

Roughly 1908-1909. Value all depends on what shape, and how original it is. But a good shooter starts at $1000+ and goes up from there.

Thank you very much. It appears all original. I will see if I can post a few pics to see if that helps confirm what you are thinking.

We do so love pics!
When asking for an opinionated value from members, pictures sure can help. Plus, we like the wood and steel eye candy!
