Ok, I could use some assistance here settling a question here. What is the effective range of a 1873 Springfield Carbine in 45/70 with a 405 with 55 gr? Also I recall reading a few years ago about bullet testing where they tested bullet weight and found that it actually lost mass. Looking for the documentation. Also looking for documentation that you really need a 500 gr bullet to go beyond 300 yds with any accuracy. Any assistance here?
