Brought home an "experienced" 1894 in .25-20. DOM is 1900 from its 204XXX S.N. Stock has a crack that has been glued , I'd like to clean it out and try again.<br>
Now to find some brass.
I would love to hear some of those stories. This rifle has a wear pattern on the stock that could be from a saddle scabbard, could be an interesting chapter.
Just got done with a quick cleanup, plenty of crud in all the normal spots and a few boogered up screws but all parts except the cracked butt stock are intact
and operational. Bore is average for its age but may improve with some scrubbing. Dies are on hand and bullets will be ordered soon, just need a little more brass. Somebody tell Winchester to get on the ball.
I need to try to dissolve the old glue in the wrist and reglue with acraglass. Should be fun.
