Dear Friends and Fellow Patriots,
We wanted to reach out to you during these worrisome times, because now more than ever, it is important to remain connected. We hope you are all well and bearing up under the strain that this unprecedented pandemic response has created.
As we watch events unfold, it seems this crisis couldn't have come at a worse time. A strong economy has been brought to its knees (though we can be thankful that it was strong going in). Far worse, a nation already so divided along ideological lines now has a fresh reason to literally stand apart, and that is the most worrisome thing of all. It's not that we can't handle standing six feet apart, it's that new fault lines of fear are marooning us at far greater distances.
Against this backdrop, record gun sales are not surprising, but I pray that as we clean and oil our weapons, we do not neglect the real mechanisms of our nation's strength.
When we encounter fear, let courage and compassion be the first weapons we reach for.
Let us show strength through solidarity and fortitude.
Let us pray for patience, and the will to fight frustration with good humor.
Let us remember that toilet paper does, in fact, grow on trees.
Let us count our blessings, and not just our ammunition.
In the face of uncertainty, let us seek to understand, not through inflammatory headlines, but sound reason.
Let us remember the value of what we have built in the past, and find in ourselves the passion and ingenuity to rebuild it even better in the future.
Our best to you, our friends and fellow patriots. Be well. Be strong. God bless.
