I got my hands on one of these beauties over a week ago. My stepbro gave it to me in lieu of money from a job I helped him on (he's a mechanic). The only reason he gave it to me was due to how my face lit up the first time I ever saw it. The only issue with the gun is the fact that .219 Zipper...
  2. Reloading
I’ve been hand loading for a good while. However, I’ve never loaded a rimmed bottle necked cartridge before. I have some once fired brass on hand, plus a bag of new Winchester 30-30 brass. Also a Wilson case gauge and a Hornady headspace gauge. After you stop laughing because I forgot that...

With R/M 336 in 30-30 out I seen allot of discussion on whether they should build them in .35 Rem or in 360 BH. Well I have to vote for .35 Rem over the 360 BH and yes I know the ballistics. The .35 REM has been around since 1905 and is a proven deer/black bear round here in the Appalachians. As...
  4. Reloading
I find reloading the 30-30 ammos is quite finicky for the Marlin lever gun. The OAL has to be the exact length or shorter to avoid jamming/failing to cycle. Does anyone have a similar problem/solution? Shenkoh

Good afternoon ladies and gents, I am in search of 150gr-175gr subsonic 30-30 ammunition. Apparently there are a lot of others as well since Hornady’s 30-30 175gr Sub-X can’t be found. I am looking for any leads on where I could purchase this ammo or a formula for powder load and components to...

30-30 ammo is here. Went by Bass Pro near BWI airport and found Winchester and Federal 30-30 in stock @$29.95.😎 Then happened by the Walmart in Pasadena MD and found Winchester 30-30 in stock, but @$34.95.😐

Hey folks, I've been admiring the 336 for a while now, and stumbled across a 30-30 for a decent deal so i jumped on it. Just wondering how I can find out more info/details about it. It's JM stamped and the SN is K13XXX. Its definitely not in perfect shape but pretty good all things considered...
  8. Other Marlins
Was going through the gunsafe this weekend and found this way in the back. I think its a model 90 but I honestly have no idea what it is. Hoping someone can give me some information on it and it's history. The only markings I can find on it are 99 (probably a serial number) and the old JM stamp...

New Member Here :) Looking for recommendations for a combo of front sight and rear sight? I have read all about the measurements but would like to replace both front and rear sight as a package? Without trying to figure out the math. I have a Vortex red dot but would like to have back up sights...

Hi all, Recently inherited a 1954 336 RC 30-30. The previous owner was a family friend who recently passed. It was his father's originally who'd had it for years. When his father was getting up in age he had to hide it from him, disassembled it and stowed it in a tool box in their shed. Because...

I just bought a nice looking 336C in 30-30 used with Skinner rear sight installed (SN of the rifle indicates a 2018 manufacture date). I have not gotten a chance to shoot it yet but I have been trying to cycle it with 4 "A-Zoom 30-30 snap caps" unsuccessfully. My problem appears to be that...
  14. Winchester & Team Winchester
I bought a 307 Winchester chambered Marlin barrel from a forum member I'm going to put on my Marlin 336W. I didn't like the thought of not having a 30-30 and have been looking around thinking I'd probably get another Marlin. Then I remembered that my buddy I was going to share a gun show table...

  16. Ranger Point Precision
For accuracy afficionados and fans of Cooper’s scout concept, RPP now offers its new Barrel Anchored Scout (BAS) rail. As always, Ranger Point’s goal was to push the state of the art forward. In this case, that meant literally pushing the whole rail forward. Other scout rails can rob your...
