    Winny 94 value

Ran across a Winchester pre cross bolt in 99+ percent. I could get it for $550 otd. It is a 30-30 with a 20" barrel. Just wondering what you all think.

Yes, the year is all important. A pre-64 in that condition would be a great deal.

Pre cross bolt safety in that condition? Sounds like a good buy, pre-64 or not. Love my Marlins, love my Winny's too.

I just sold a post 64 Win 94 for $350 and it took awhile. I bought it and a pre safety JM 336 of same guy. The 336 lasted about 48 hrs. The pre 64 market for 94 Wins is getting soft for post WW2 guns in shooter grade. $600 will buy a decent gun. Right now in my area pre safety JMs are more desirable than post 64 Wins. That goes for all Wins. For the average shooter the shoddy guns put out after Win folded killed them. The people who do buy them don't recognize the difference. Most all us on Forum are lever nuts but the new generation aren't.

Theres a site on the web you can check the year it is manufactured just by putting in the serial #. Just google "Win 94 year of manufacture" and I think you may find it.
