Modify a 336/1895 to load and feed longer cartridges

How do I modify a 336/1895 to load and feed longer cartridges? I would like to be able to use cartridges 2.7" long, if that's possible. Is it something relatively simple I can do myself or does it need to go to a gunsmith who specializes in this? If the latter, who would you recommend?

totally doable. Might be something in the gunsmithing section. Or PM to Flat Top. He may guide you.

All I found in the Gunsmithing section was how to modify an 1894.

What would be great is if someone would offer the modified part(s) for sale or offer to modify the part(s) you send in. Even increasing cartridge OAL from 2.55" to 2.65" would be beneficial.

It's all the same method, I believe. Severa; guys on here have had it done, or did it. I've never had the time to fiddle with such things.
