    I went to a Birthday party . . .

Yesterday my fellow Legionnaires gathered to celebrate the 99th Birthday of our hero, Howard B.

He was awarded three Bronze Stars, two Silver Stars and a Purple Heart which he finally received at his birthday party as we all witnessed with pride and thanks for his heroism during his time in service in WWII and later on during the Korean war.

With a flamethrower strapped on his back as he ran up on the beach and did his duty, a 20 year-old kid did manly things.

Thank you for your service Cpl. Bentley!

Then, as we sat there commiserating with each other, someone invoked the President's came and you would have thought the President had stabbed them in their backs!

I don't know what caused them to utter some pretty vulgar explitives; something to do with something he said or did during the ARMY-NAVY game, so if anyone can clue me in, I'd appreciate it.

I thought at least some of these veterans had some respect for the President because they sure didn't like the previous one, either.

*I must admit to an error in relating Howard's heroic actions.

I did confuse Howard using a flamethrower- he was carrying a machine gun.

I confused another MOH recipient, "Woody" Hershel Williams who used a flamethrower to fulfill his heroic deeds. Mr. Williams is spearheading the building of Gold Star Families memorials around the country, an he had visited our Legion hall a couple of years ago.

My apologies for being in error.

Regardless, being in the presence of such truly heroic men is humbling.

I'm certain Howard would forgive my cloudy memory.

That Gentleman is a true Hero.

As for the folks bad mouthing Trump, I just don't know. Maybe they want to give up their cars, pay out almost all their income in taxes until they lose everything they own and live under a Socialist regime. Go figure.

Far more support for our active military, incresed funding for both the services and veterans than the previous occupant of the White House ever thought about doing. Just not sure why they would be so down on Trump.

Congrats to Cpl. Bentley--A true American hero.

I was taken aback by their negative comments about the President.

I mean, they were really ticked off.

So, I told them not to worry, just vote Democrat in 2020.

You could have heard a pin drop.

I still don't know what they were pissed about.

He crushed Hillary, that's what he did! She was the next "annointed one", the "heir to the throne". But somehow, our votes actually counted and their "fix" didn't work. They can't crucify all of US, so they have to attack Trump because "HE MUST HAVE CHEATED SOMEHOW!!!!"

Trump never served in the Military. Got it!

    Neither did Hitlery...

Trump did attend a Military academy in High School, he knows the ethos. Hitlery didn't, and doesn't (or at least care about it).

    Happy birthday, Howard B.!!!

Trump honors our military - he understands the ethos and sacrifice. Hitlery disdains the military.

Those vets who love Hitlery need to get an Alzheimers check. I know that is rude (have a family member who died from it - a USNA grad), but Hitlery is about as anti-military as one could imagine, and that should be no surprise.

Last I could dig up was that the President said something about allowing cadets to play ball for a certain amount of time before they were required to do their time in service, but they still had to serve.

I'm not certain I've got it.

He has the confidence of his convictions and that intimidates alot of men who aren't as secure in themselves, or believe enough of themselves.

    Just a guess.
