    Hello and a >Sharp Salute<

    New Vet member here - just put of a intro post and a .sig.

    USCG '77-'83 Semper Paratus - CGC Point Evans WPB82376 82' footer fast patrol. MSO LA/LB Harbor, SaR & Drug Interdiction Response Team. Chased drug runners coming up from Mexico and did West Coast search and rescue. Some helo rescues. Did a lot of tankship and bulk carrier boardings/inspections prior to offload. But also towed some moron pleasure boaters out of gas on the far side of Catalina. Ha! All stateside duty primarily West Coast. Was in Yorktown, VA. for secondary training and some occupational specialty training. Did boot in Alameda, CA. sooo many years ago.

    I don't know, I'm still a little rankled about getting boarded & pointing M-16s at me on my schooner at 2:00 Am in the middle of a squall half way between Cuba & Florida for a "Safety Inspection"!
    On the other hand, In all my sailing, I never noticed any of the USAs coasts were missing- good job
