The best shotgun ever made...the MIGHTY Mossberg 500!!!!! I have two barrels for mine...both 18". One barrel has rifle sights and a 610 choke that I use for turkey hunting, the other has the four standard screw in chokes. I shoot a duplex #4 and #5 shot load in a 3" shell. A lot of birds have fallen to this gun, and it was getting pretty ratty so year before last it got a new camo paint scheme and it is looking like new.....I am ready to go!!!!

I have a old bolt action mossberg 12 ga.. that has been my go to shotgun for many years. I have had Remington 870s
1100 s Ithaca s , but all ways grab this old mossberg when the weather is bad , and the trees are loaded with snow. So it gets the most use.
I have used it for rabbits, Turkey, partridge etc.
Last year i had a red dot mounted on it, and started siteing
It in, and trying different shells. Looking for the right combo.

I hunt Turkeys with class. I will be using my "custom" 1897 Winchester with my home made Turkey choke. Bought this gun with Bubba job on barrel but otherwise a cream puff. Was going to make a slug gun out of it but smith talked me into threading for chokes. It's only 2 3/4" but I never needed image.jpegmore than a standard heavy MK-5 in # 4 shot for turkey. My choke doesn't like #4s so I'm going to whip up
a box of baby mags with #6s.

My slayer is a old Wingmaster 870 magnum. Started life as a full choke 30" VR barrel. Had gunsmith buddy, cut and tube it back in early 80's. It is and was a lot easier to walk thru the woods with an 18.625" barrel. (that's where the last legal rib post is)
Sports an Extra-full choke tube and has never lost a bird..(knock-on-wood). I have even loaned to a newbie and called the bird in for him.. "dead-bird"
here is last years Osceola .

I don't get overly excited about turkey hunting, but this Winchester 1300 is the best shotgun I've ever shot using turkey or coyote loads. Didn't realize my pic only showed off the discontinued Leupold turkey scope, so use your imagination.
