Standard remington 870 12ga with 3" winchester turkey loads. Still a novice but it worked last year at a 30 yard shot, so if it ain't broke don't fix it.

This year will be using my Marlin M94CL in .25-20 topped with a Weaver K3, a combo still legal in Florida on private land.
Watson, fetch your revolver and let's go.

This is my favorite, I had one back then but had to sell it, just found another one last week. One of the best built shotguns ever made.

I wish it was legal in Ohio to use a rifle. Only thing that would be required is a good 22 but I would get my jollies using 25/20 or 32/20.
Seems like it's not as much sport using a shotgun. Turkeys are not wing shot very often so if rifle is ok for deer why not Turkey?

Around here you can use rifle for fall hunting only. Many on turkey sites think using a rifle unsporting because many will snipe them at great distances or shoot them off the roost. I think DNR just thinks it is too unsafe to shoot them with a rifle because hunters are in camo unlike deer hunters who wear orange. I used my 45 cal air rifle last year in WV to get one bird. It was fun.

Some Turkey hunters are more interested in "calling" than hunting. That's OK if that's your interest but those are the guys crying about rifle hunters. I've never hunted anywhere that had problems with poachers or slaughter by guys with rifles. I'm sure there are some ego trophy hunters that will pick one off at 200yds but you're always going to have a few slobs. The best protection a wild turkey has is that it's lousy eating.
