Two of the scariest things in the woods are : a human face and human hands. Use gloves and a face mask or face paint.

You have received a lot of sound advice. I will just add, Please take the advice on insect bites, TICKS can be deadly. I lost a friend about 10 years ago due to a TICK ( Lyme Disease ) bite.

Exactly the reason I don't sit or crawl around on the forest floor or fields to turkey hunt. Seven years ago I almost died from Rocky Mtn Spotted Fever. Thankfully I have a savvy wife and doctor who is a hunter. I got the right treatment fast because they knew the signs and what to suspect first based on my activities. I still spent seven days nearly delirious with fever before it was over.

Hunt if you want to but get thoroughly inspected the minute you quit hunting for the day. THOROUGHLY!

    I prefer Butterball turkeys anyway.
