Spent the weekend in Nixa MO

I have been shooting/hunting with a Black Widow MA II graybark bow since the 1988. After I retired in January I picked it up an started preparing for my elk hunt in Idaho this year. I signed up for the yearly seminar/bow clinic that Widow puts on with Fred Asbell. It was this past weekend.

Needless to say but it was a fantastic weekend and the fellas at Black Widow are a great bunch of guys. I left my "back-up" 1990 MA III Autumn Oak bow with them to have snake skins installed plus a few other doo-dads. I will post up some pictures when I get it back in a month or so.

I have also discovered that I "obviously need" a new custom built PCH in 56" to hunt out of my blind with..........
Widowitis is starting to feel like Marlinitis.

    Any other Widow shooters here?

Widows are fantastic bows; I don't own one but a friend does and I keep telling him it will go missing one day! I may have to end up with a 58" PMA at some point.

Their bows are top notch-quality, performance, customer service. Ken, did a good job all the way around when He took them over and passed it on.

Is Allen tennis still with them? Him and Ken Beck used to come to all the United Bowhunters of Missouri events. I haven't been to one in years though. Meet Fred Asbel at one of the UBM banquets years ago. I was just sitting on a couch in a lobby and he came and sat across from me and we talked for about s half hour. Also got to meet Monty Browning one year. Listened to him tell about his brown bear hunt then after the event several of us ended up in the hotel bar for a while then back in the lobby where he told us a bunch of stories. He had a real late flight so wasn't going to sleep. Lucky us. It was an enjoyable evening.

Thoughts on Remlins: The day I walk into a sporting goods and honestly mistake a Remlin gun for a JM gun, THAT will be the day I think about buying one. Until then, they can keep 'em.

Words to live by: Just because something is primitive, doesn't mean it has to be crude. Just because something is custom, doesn't mean it's quality.

I did not meet anyone named Allen working there but that is not to say he isn't. There was an older fella that did all the gluing of the lams and he supposedly been there since the 70's.

I spent most of my time with Roger , Toby, Ken, and Fred. Great group of guys.
