    Fishing Reel service/ repair.

Anyone have a Good shop , that you deal with to have reels serviced ?
Sent 4 penn battle 2 reels to bass pro. , and i thought i sent them to Ilion New York by mistake .
Very bad service. Plus the one reel i had to fix myself, when i finally got the reels back.
Never send another reel to thoes people.
    Thanks for any leads.

    Just did a little search,
Found a guy up in Wisconsin. That sounds pretty good, but who knows.

We did have a great guy who would fix any reel here in my small town, but he past away and his son threw everything in the dumpster! Not interested was all he said! So I feel your pain on getting any reel fixed or cleaned!

There use to be lots of reel repair shops but most have gone out in last 20yrs. The big box outfits run them out. You might try Penn to
find nearest warranty repair shop and contact them.

A couple of my friends have used this guy. I've met him and he says he has parts to fix most reels. You can call and ask.

Go to Alan Tani.com...it’s a site about reels, repairs and doin it yourself. Alan himself does maintenance and repairs and there are a few shops listed there that do them as well in the U.S.

This is where I go to buy parts, see tutorials, etc. to do my own repairs on my salt water reels.

Yes, I grew up in Utica, NY and spent much time at Joe’s Reel Repair. He worked at Griffiss AFB but nights were spent in his basement shop. ECh Spring hundreds would bring their reels to be cleaned and/or repaired. He had a wall of small parts cabinets . Nowadays we live in a throwaway society. Thanks for the memories No Primers.
