tobaccy mixed with epsons salt works wonders. When young I was highly allergic to bees, wasps, YJs and the like. One honey bee sting on my foot meant walking on crutches for a week or more because my whole leg would swell up pretty big.. I had to take shots to build up my resistance for 4 yrs. I still swell a bit though.

Before the shots, Doc said if I'd been stung by 3 or more I'd been dead before I could be taken to the hospital. I still stay away from stinging insects as much as possible.

Looks like only 4 got me, still burns and itches. The little bastids. Picture0812191440_1.jpg The one on top of the first knuckle is the worst. That 91% alcohol is pretty effective.

My dad was stung once at the edge of the fingernail on his pinky when he was knelt down building a fire on a hunting trip, he had built the fire inches away fro their underground nest. The guys with him barely got him to the hospital as he had swelled and passing out as quick as he would come to. Could not even recognize him the swelling was so bad. The hospital wanted to know if he was drunk or if he looked like that all the time. They finally got him in and sent home with news that 2 would have been fatal. He carried the epi pen for years until they got beyond being affordable. Nearly a thousand dollars if I remember right. Since then he has been stung as many as 3 times at once with a symptom. Must depend in your system at the time. Personally my 2 biggest Yellow Jacket sting counts was 15 and 8... not much fun but boy you can move like you haven't moved in years!!!

I hate yellow jackets. Rotten little bastages, their stings hurt me for days, wake me up in the middle of the night.

Worst I ever got was mowing. It was a ground nest that I only stirred up the first time I passed over them. Second time around, they were ready for me. I think I got 10 or 12 stings from that. That was probably about 35 years ago, still remember it like it was yesterday.

Wow, that is really, really bad. It's the absolute worst looking swollen foot I've ever seen!
