Yeah, that's about what I take too.

Except by the time I get it all packed into the 4Runner, I'm about too tired to shoot.

The spotting scopes are a necessity, as just walking to the backstops is enough to tire me out for the day...

If anyone at the range has a stoppage or failure, I've probably got the tools to fix it with me.

Yep same as far as helping out. I honestly can't venture to count the number of times I've helped out with optics, jams, and loose screws or other parts.

Haha, that's EXACTLY why I went to strictly lever actions. Now I have my bag with a range finder, binos, brass drift pin, small mallet and hearing protection. Then I have my ammo and little brother/sons. Range a random rock and practice field shooting positions. Working loads is different, for the most part it's informal at a remote BLM location. This weekend it was my Marlin 1895 CB and my Henry both 45/70s. What a confidence building and fun way to spend a Saturday morning with my brother and kids.

It dawned on me I was getting old when I was in line to board a bus in Salt Lake City, Utah.
I made idle chit chat with a young man and young lady behind me in line.
We board the bus, but the young man was not with her. he was seeing her off.
It was kinda late at night, and when she saw me she sat next to me for the ride.

We made more idle chit-chat until she said she was tired and wanted to close her eyes for a bit.
    OK, no problem.
Nope, she lays her head on my shoulder and asks if i would not mind putting my arm around her shoulders as she slept, because she would feel safer that way.
    OK....

So all the way to Ogden, Utah, from SLC she slept like a baby, and I realized I was now officially an old phart because she did not feel the least bit threatened by my presence.
To the contrary, she felt safe.
later a similar thing happened in a bar when the young lady laid her head on my lap as she stretched out on the couch i was sitting on to take a nap.

    Someone just shoot me.
When beautiful young women do not feel the least bit cautious with you, then you are officially an OLD PHART.

Yep, there's 2 ways to tell you're getting old. First you can't remember simple things, and uh, well can't think of the other one!
