    New to me Glenfield

Went to a pawn shop for a 9mm pistol and ended up putting a 1981 Glenfield 30a on layaway. The receiver and bore are in good condition. The outside of the barrel had some black rust and some minor, but widespread pitting. The pawn shop was nice enough to let me hit it with some oil and some #0000 steel wool to get the rust off. I have it a coating of oil for it's stay in their vault. It has a rail but no scope. Got it for $300 plus tax.

I think you did well. I have two Glennies - one just like yours and a model 30 with the half mag tube. I also have a JC Penney version and I almost enjoy the store brand rifles better than the regular Marlins.

Also, don’t forget to post a picture when you bring her home. I love those birch wood squirrel stocks.

Unless the barrel bore is in bad shape, you're going to find it to be surprisingly accurate. You done good.

The Glenfield 30 is the best handling of the marlin levers in my opinion. Congrats on your new rifle!
