Be careful when you follow the masses. Sometimes the "m" is silent.

Just came back from the Adirondacks in ny had a great thanksgiving up there i put a new field n stream 3×9 × 40 scope on my almost 50 year old model 80 and went out for squirrels my longest kill was over a hundred yards away on tree stump what a great and accurate old gun for 34 dollars back in the day

I’ve got a Model 80.... but... it’s not a JC Penney store-model, it’s a Marlin 80 which my Father bought new in1939. Nice dark walnut, deeply blued with chromed bolt, and NO SERIAL NUMBER. (Serial numbers were not required back then.). It’s in excellent condition and also a tack-driver.

PS: The magazine has a metal follower, not the orange plastic todays mags have. And it’s pre-Micro-Groove, of course.
