    JM mark

I found two Marlin 60s, stainless barrels with birch stocks. Both say New Haven, Conn. on the barrel but neither has the JM mark on the barrel near the receiver that I thought all pre-Rem Marlins had. Am I wrong about that?

They didn't all get stamped... What are the first 2 digits of the serial numbers?

I saw something somewhere that said, "After 1984, model 60's did not get the JM Mark."
This would coincide with the model 60's that I have. My 1984 has the JM mark, the 1989 and the 1999 do not.

I just checked mine and my boys 3 model 60's. 1985, 1986, and a 1990. All from North Haven.
The 1985 is the only one with the JM. The 1986 and 1990 don't have it.

My 1969 Glenfield mod 60 don't have the "JM" stamp on barrel. Seems it should!

Model 60's did have some issues after the Remington buyout but not near as bad as the issues with the lever actions.
