    Model 60W question

I think I understand the serial numbering system for CF Marlins and 39A's. I'm not sure about the Model 60's.
Is the 60W strictly an NRA 125th. Anniversary edition or are there other versions of the 60W?
With the serial number starting with 06 does that make it a 1996?
I've seen posts on line stating there is a 1994 60W also.
    Any help is appreciated.

06 = 1994.... Does it have a medallion in the stock?

    Yes it does Bart.
I've seen two different dates stated for the 125th. Ann. rifle. 1996 and 1994.
Sure seems as though it should be the 94 date.

Well, is the stock walnut or birch? The 125th anniversary model is a 1996. It also wouldn't be the first time Marlin used a receiver that was stamped and left over from previous years.

If the stock is Walnut, then it will have a bullseye in it... Like this one of my Ladies...

Doesn't look like a walnut stock. Virtually no grain or figure to speak of.
So it seems like it's a 94 receiver with the 96 anniversary stock.
    No bullseye.

Nope, I don't think so... The 60W was made for more years than the anniversary year and with the medallion too... But, the anniversary model has a Walnut stock and a gold trigger...

Ok, so it seems it's a 60W with the medallion, gold trigger and birch stock with a DOM of 1994? Does that sound right.
Does the anniversary edition have any other identifying markings on it?

Also, I have heard of but not seen anniversary editions with a Birch stock...
