    Savage Anschutz

Does anybody here shoot a Savage Anschutz (141M) in 22mag? I purchased mine new in 1965....still have it. Curious as to what ammo works best in your rifle. My rifle has many uses. Anything from coyotes to feral cats to punching paper. Appreciate your replies.

Nice rifle. I have a Match 64 that I used to shoot 4-position, 50 foot indoor with back in the late 70's/early 80's. It's a .22 LR, but it showed a preference for the old Remington Target standard velocity ammo. It's what we practiced with, shot in competition, and used for qualifying in the NRA courses.

Not sure about 22 Magnum models.

Beyond any doubt...The best/most accurate ammo that I have ever shot in my 22 Mag SA is/was Winchester Supreme...Black Box...34gr JHP. Unfortunately, I cant find these anywhere. Hornady 30gr Vmax are not too shabby.

My LGS showed me some new Norma 22 Magnum ammo Thursday when I was there. It was the 40 Gr. HPT. He was selling it for a $100/brick which is not a bad price. I will probably try some after the Holiday is over. Has the RWS head stamp on it. So far the 30 gr. V-Max has been very good in my CZ 452 full stock and the 50 gr Federal has been more accurate but has a lot of drop with the heavy bullet.

Benji....thanks for the info BUT that Winchester Varmint HE 22mag ammo is NOT the same...I understand that the "Supremes" were discontinued. Too bad.

My 141M seems to like the Remington lighter weight bullet, seems my best groups were with their............ was it a 33 grain Sierra green tip? (I have to go to another building to verify, but the targets I have show the proof)
