    Mossberg MVP Patrol Rifle 7.62

Like a Momma cat building a nest for the future arrivals, I have had one of my Marlin 30-30s cut down to 16.25 inches and threaded in anticipation of receiving my Silencerco Harvestor 30. Yesterday, I had my FFL order me a Mossberg MVP Patrol in 7.62/308 , also for use with my suppressor. The rifle comes with a 16.25 inch threaded barrel. - T.S.

I saw one of those last week at the MCX and thought it would be handy to own. I'm waiting on approval for a couple of factory suppressors as well as several Form 1 builds including one in .308. I would be interested to see a review on the rifle once you get it in.

Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.

Mine is very accurate. With subsonics (175 grain Sierra Match Kings at 1050 fps) and the suppressor, the sound of the bullet striking the paper target is much louder than the report of the rifle.

Texas Shooter, if you don't mind my asking, was the Hybrid out when you ordered the Harvester?

Texas Shooter, please post a review of the Moss. Partol after you have had a chance to shoot. I've got one of these on my radar; next purchase.

I have no suppressor experience but I do love my MVP Patrol. I'm still experimenting with factory loads to see what the rifle prefers. So far, Remington 168gr Match seems to perform best but I only was able to get a box or two before the supply dried up. Federal uses the same Sierra bullet in their Matchking loads but there is something about how they do their loads that the rifle doesn't like them. Federal 150gr soft point rounds seem to perform fairly decently, about 1.5 MOA. The rifle did not like Federal 165gr Sierra Gameking much. Groups opened up quite a bit. Lake City bulk ammo did ok, considering that the round was never meant to be more than "minute of man" accuracy but my M&P10 (.308 chamber) performed better with the ammo than the MVP chambered for 7.62.

Now this is a example of one, and experimentation continues as I have time with the same rounds and others. You may find differently since each rifle is it's own animal, so who knows.
