If I had my rather's I'd take a red or "fox" squirrel for eating
every time. The meat is darker and it makes a better stew.
The meat on the grey ones is white and it's okay but not my favorite.

Gentlemen, Gentlemen, Gentlemen, It's not the dogs fault its preprogramed in every Terriers DNA. If its small fury, runs and squeaks its just got to be nailed, looks mostly a Jack Russel type terrier to me. If it runs it gets nailed, every terrier comes with a get out of jail free card because its never their fault self defence is the usual excuse. Ask me how I know.

We suspect it is part Jack Russel but my son had one and it was not really much like this one. But who knows. The one my son had was a hyperactive small lap dog about half the size of this one. Dogs bred across the pond are often different than what they breed over here even with the same names. We have the show circuit messing up a lot of breeds. The English Cocker Spaniel is a great little dog, the American Spaniels are not generally used for hunting. The setter breeds have been messed up also.

The first time I saw a black squirrel was when I got to Navy Boot Camp at Great Lakes, Il. in 1968. One of the other guys in the company was standing "Guard Duty" on a dumpster and made the mistake of aiming at a black squirrel with his unloaded 1903 Springfield. The company commander happened to be looking out the window and saw him do it. He was immediately relieved from his post and chewed out by the CC. Then the CC had him march around the perimeter of the base and every time he saw a black squirrel he had to aim his rifle at it and yell "BANG YOUR DEAD!!" It was cold as hell and about 8" of snow. I don't think this guy ever shot another squirrel after that.

I've seen only one black squirrel in my life. But if you ever pass through Brevard, NC, keep your eyes peeled for the white ones. They have a population of them, protected by city ordinance, and they are not albinos. Quite startling the first time you encounter one!

    DEP-
Looks like a mountain fiest to me...but it don't matter.
A squirrel dog is a squirrel dog. My best dog is a half JR terrier
and half west highland terrier. He looks like a short-legged
shnauzer, but he's one more dynamite squirrel dog.
Just get him out there and start working him.
Squirrel doggin' is a hoot...and it gets in your blood.
I'd just about lay off a deer or hog hunt to run my dogs.
    No lie.

Suicide is what the suspect would want you to think. She's kind of manipulating.

She could be a feist or some mix, as she was from Laredo Texas originally. She weighs in at 35 pounds and looks a bit large for either a Jack Russel or a Feist, but she has the tail.
