    Stevens 94 series

I have my first shotgun my Dad gave me in 1956. A Stevens 94a 12g 30" FC. Gun is in fine shape after years of use. Even as I got older and had pumps & autos a lot of times I just carried the old crow bar out of lazyness. I have original forearm and front bead. Dan made me Beavertail forearm and put a Raybar front on it for me when teaching me to shoot trap. He use to use it once in a while just to hack on guys in his club that just bought the "ultimate" trap gun. He would beat the snot out of them and ask them if they wanted to shoot for pink slips.

I've always wanted to make a trap barrel for it with a vent rib. I got a rib some time ago and Bro bought me a good Stevens today. It's marked Eastern Arms and 94b, no stock $50. Bad news is forearm has different stud on 94b than 94a. Any Stevens nuts know if 94a & 94b stocks are the same. Now don't know if I should look for a stock and put rib on 94b or a barrel for 94aimage.jpeg

I don't know if this will help any or not.

A couple of years ago I picked up a JC Higgins 101.1 which based on the research that I've done is supposed to be a Stevens 94C although there's no model number that I can find. The receiver between looks pretty much identical other than the shape of the trigger guard though.

Most branded Stevens have number on lower left of right side of action. Small stamp 94. Gun with cast trigger guard is later model.
