Beautiful rifle indeed! I lucked into a 99f, 1956 vintage a few months ago, in .358 Win. I've wanted one for about 40 years, and finally found a nice one that I could afford, and it happened 10 miles from home! Just waiting to try it out on a Nebraska mulie this fall.
Beautiful rifle. What scope is that? I've got a 1956 F in 308 Winchester, and a 1957 F in 300 Savage, but neither are in nearly as nice condition.
Youper, it is a weaver KV. My understanding is that in 1956, Weaver upgraded the original KV 2.5-5 to the KV 3-5 60 model, which had constantly centered reticles and were fully sealed and nitrogen filled. The variable is a bit of a misnomer ... set them to either 3 or 5.
