I'm almost 100% on taking my 444S out first. 38-55 Savage 1899, the 1894 .44mag and Rem 760 in .35 Whelen will be in some order after that. 38-55 isn't shooting my reloads accurately enough yet though. We've got a 7 week long firearms season in central VA though. So most of the collection will get at least one sit in the woods.

Muzzle loader opens this Saturday and I decided to go with my Hawken 54cal that I recently rebarreled with a Green Mountain kit. For regular gun season it will be my basic 336 30-30 I got as a teenager many Christmas's ago. If I end up in a shotgun only zone it will most likely be my 1956 Browning A5.

    I will take the two I have bought since last season. A 1949 336SC 32 Win and a 1953 Savage 99 in 300 Savage.

Taking my 1966 336rc, great karma deer killer. Also taking my .308 700 for the day I sit in the stand with 300yd plus shots. And either the 1894ss or my Super Blackhawk for anterless. And my 1895 for bear. It’s ridiculous how many I tote to camp. My wife takes her model 70 7mm-08 and is happy with one rifle.
But the best season is after Christmas, flintlock season, nothing is more of a challenge or more true hunting than being out in single digits with my hawken 50 cal flintlock

With new Saturday opener for buck in PA, I’ll start with either Ruger 77 in 6.5x55 Swede or Win 88 in .308 for stands overlooking fields. For the woods drives and stands I’ll switch to Rem 14 in 35 Remington or Marlin 336 in 35 Remington, both with receiver sights.

Opening day of bear season, August 1st, I took my 45/70 Marlin 1895 with the 2.5x Leupold scope and ammo handloaded with 350 gr RNSP Hornady bullets. Sadly, no shot opportunity at a bear:

Opening day of mule deer season I took a well proven rifle of mine, the 30-06 Remington 700 with a 6x Leupold scope, and handloaded 165 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip ammo. This rifle has brought me a lot of game, but I wasn't able to hunt long this season and came home without filling my tag. Ah well. It was still a good hunt with my son:

Best of luck to all you guys just getting started this season!
