    Alcohol = Gun Violence

    DUH. This "study" misses the point, IMO.

    "Laws limiting gun access to people displaying potentially risky behavior are passing in more states, but new research suggests it may be worth going further."

    "The University of California, Davis’s Violence Prevention Research Program found a connection between alcohol, guns and future violent crimes."

    https://www.abcactionnews.com/news/n...ce-study-finds

    Why not limit access to alcohol? Oh, yeah....thought so.

    Guns and alcohol don't mix! It's bad and not good for anybody! Same with women and jealous boyfriends! Bad mix!

    I was married to a woman who was violent only when she was drunk. And she was drunk all the time. Tried to shoot me one night with my Super Black Hawk. We parted ways soon after that.

    My Mentor always said "Alcohol and gunpowder don't mix. It won't shoot and tastes nasty!"
    A wee dram at day's end when the guns are cases, the fire's just right, and the dogs fed - well, that's another matter!
    Same goes for the traditional "Sundowner".

    Rob,

    You and others should watch this video all the way through. It's only funny because it is so true! You may possibly be able to relate. This guy gave this some serious thought.

    If alcohol and firearms are such a bad combination, then why are they in the same government club?
    alcohol tobacco and firearms is a party, not an agency

    I once worked with a German dude who had a local girl friend. She was nice but when she drank and was drunk she turned into a violent Gremlin. Once we drank at his house and then she was okay on wine but then we had a few shots of whiskey and she got out of hand. Started accusing the German dude of cheating on her. They got into it and then she picked up a knife and was going to stab him. We had to break it up and call it a night. She turned into a Mrs Hide !

    While "a" DUI/D&D is not an indicator of a pattern of an irresponsible/out-of-control individual,
    a pattern of DUIs/D&Ds is clear evidence of an irresponsible/out-of-control individual.

    ... . the devil being in the details of any rules/regulation/legislation, (etc., etc., ...) of course.
    (`Wouldn't want to lose our future US Grants/Sam Houstons/Winston Churchills now... would we ?)
