Gov. Tony Evers rolled out red-flag legislation Thursday and said he would consider requiring gun owners to sell off some of their weapons. Republicans who control the Legislature immediately rejected both ideas, much as they resisted an earlier proposal from Evers for expanded background checks. The red-flag legislation Evers touted Thursday would allow judges to take guns away from people who are deemed to be a danger. "Each and every day officials choose cowardice over common sense," Evers said at a Capitol news conference. "That choice has significant consequences. The consequences of inaction are too high, folks." - Patrick Marley

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers, center, speaks during a press conference announcing new gun safety reform legislation, Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019, in the Governors conference room in Madison WI. Responding to a question at the news conference, Evers said he was open to a proposal by Democratic presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke that would require people to sell their military-style weapons. But Evers said he was putting his attention on expanded background checks and red-flag legislation – ideas that polling has shown are overwhelmingly popular with the public. ...

I wonder who that public was? Nobody ever asked me my opinion on that subject. It would have be a resounding not only "NO" but I would said they can stick that where the sun never shines. Frankly, I'm getting might sick and tired of those communists, err democrats trying to take our legally owned constitutionally guaranteed firearms away from us. maybe we should ban democrats, ya think?

Polls should have zero bearing on any legislation. The Constitution is not about feels, emotions, or anyone's personal opinion, unless those sync with the Constitution. The only poll that matters is the one you vote at. legislate according to the Constitution and put it up fro a vote. And, it's about time the federal government stops pushing states to enact these laws (Thanks Trump/Graham) and keep to the business of ensuring what any state does does not violate the Constitution.

With the exception of Madison and the Milwaukee metro area, Evers has no backing on this idea.
Milwaukee has multiple shootings every day. These shootings are not being done by law abiding gun owners. The unfortunate consequence of these Milwaukee shootings are that innocent people are being injured and killed.
Govenor Evers is not an independent thinker. He is just part of the socialist/communist band wagon called the Democrat Party and their enemy is the United States Constitution.

If anyone hasn’t already noticed, Congress passes un-Constitutional legislation all the time...they could care less about the restraints put upon them by the Constitution.

IMO that's our fault for not holding their feet to the fire, most of our problems come from letting things slide!!!
