No court needs to find on the constitutionality of "assault weapons", because the constitution makes no mention of them. It does however say that the right to keep and bear ARMS shall not be infringed. Does he not understand the meaning of the word ARMS? No, I didn't think so!

The founders had such a good grasp of the language, fortunately.
Yeah, that's the problem with government today. If something isn't spelled out in plain English, they feel it is their job/right to legislate something in between. While things were originally written open and free by our founders, they never anticipated their descendants viewing lack of specifics as a blank canvas for legislation and regulation. Right or wrong, all it takes is enough votes in favor and a signature and you'll get what you get because they have legislated themselves the power to do so.

Over here in Libertardland the Blue left Guberment just got through positioning a number of new Anti-gun laws to be streamlined into law the next time there is some kind of gun violence. They also ram rodded through a new "Red Flag" law that will become law if not vetoed by the Gov. and he will not veto it. This is the kind of assault we have on 2A rights here and it is especially bad when you have a Guberment that is 98% liberal left anti-gun. When your election ballot only has libertard blue candidates on it you really have already lost the battle at the State level. Already seeing the social symptoms of Blue rule: Rise in Homeless, high taxes, Anti-gun legislation and attacks on 2A, State & City Guberment corruption, High crime rates, police Dept & AG office corruption, Failing infrastructure, Single venue economy dependence (Tourism), Very bad traffic, Drastically over budget on stupid capital projects (Rail to nowhere), etc.

It is the outcome of a Blue run City and State----we see it occurring many times over.

Assault is a verb - if you don't attack anyone with it don't matter how fast it spits out bullets it'll never be an "assault weapon".
As far as buy-back value - there's a reason those folks set up tables next to the government buy-back people and offer better money. They get good guns cheap!

It's not plain English that's the problem - half of these folks have the vocabulary of a 6th grader. The concept of a term like "arms" that can embrace a wide variety of things (knives, swords, clubs) is beyond their ken. Best they can manage is that a cup is like a glass.

They do not know or are able to prosecute all of the laws on the books now. How are they going to prosecute more?

    What if?

What if every suggestion to restrain/limit/alter/regulate second amendment rights was applied equally to the individuals' right to vote? How many heads would explode if you needed to register with proof of everything, government approved certificate, photo ID, background checks, and waiting periods before being allowed to vote, every time?

Same here in Florida with red flags. The new laws were rammed through and signed in less than one month. Government does nothing from scratch at that speed. These laws were written and just waiting for the right moment to sign. The entire Florida legislature was in on that, I'll nerve be convinced otherwise.

Another peeve with me is the lengthy and wordy means in which laws are written. If I were ever allowed to make one law, it would be that all laws would have to written in a manner that the common person could easily understand exactly what was meant. We don't need all the duly, dothly, pursuant to crap. Just say it and mean it.
