Summer fun shooting time is here!

    Hey all,

    It's summer fun shooting time.

Time to bust out the 22's and forget about the never ending political woes...

What's on tap for this shooting season?

You are a good man to post this. I promised myself that being retired, I would go to the range every two weeks. I am running behind but will fix that situation tomorrow. I have a new Ruger American .22. Not much to look at but shoots real well. I need to get my revolver out also.

I try to shoot at least a box of .22's every time I go to the cabin.
I like to run drills offhand at the little steel plates.

Here in Kaleforneeyah... I just bought another 4,000 rounds of 22LR, just for the purpose mentioned.

One goal for me personally this summer is to burn up some of the hoard I accumulated over the last 15 years...

    Ammo doesn't improve with age....

I am thinking about doing an Appleseed event in Sept. My new Savage A22 target is finally shooting like it should so I am practicing, practicing and practicing. I hope I don't embarrass myself.

The only way you will embarrass yourself is if you can't take instruction because "I already know how to shoot!!"

Already knowing something is the only way to bar learning.

Most people are poor shots with iron sights and from field positions because they never learned how iron sights actually work.

Using my time and my .22's to re-teach/learn to shoot a pistol left handed. Last December's surgery left my right hand kind of shaky and weaker than I like. Right now I'm down to half a bucket sized groups! Thank God I can still shoot a rifle OK!

It's what you learn after you know it all that makes a difference.
