Feeding problem on Marlin 1892 22 cal - Thoughts?
Iíve a marlin 1892 22 cal that binds up when cycling rounds. The binding is occurring on the outer rim edge of the rim fire shell casings. I can confirm this because every shell that cycles through this gun ends up with a very small burr that can be seen and felt on the edge of the brass casing. The rifle otherwise shoots fine. In examining the carrier spring I found that it has a sharp corner on the protruding end of it. Does anyone have experience or insight as to what the likely problem is?
BTW - The only way I can get the gun to operate is to hold it upside down with the barrel pointed up to let gravity feed it. Even then I still get several shells that stick in the receiver and wont feed up to the barrel. It does not seem ammo related. I've tried 22 shorts and it makes the problem worse.
