    Scope on my 1964 39A ?

I have a 1964 39A That came with the original receiver mount. I am trying to decide if I should try to find a Mico-Vue scope that they originally came with, or a modern version. Probably a Simmon 3/4 tube 3x7. How was the quality of the Micr-Vue's ? There are some on E-bay right now.I am doing more target and plinking with it and am looking for the retro look. I have put the newer style scopes on 39's before and it just doesn't look right to me.

    Also any other suggestion?

Look for a Weaver J-3. It's a 3/4" tube that would look about right. Maybe a little early for that rifle but, it would be period enough.~Andrew

Well I won a Micro-vue on e-bay. When I get it I will have to take a picture of it mounted on the gun.

I had a Redfield 3/4 x4 on mine. That size looks better than a big
scope. Killed a lot of squirrels with that combo. Have a old weaver
J4 but the cross hairs don't stay centered. They look funny with
them not in the center. Maybe adjustable mounts would work.
Think you will like the smaller scope.

Finally got my scope today . Won it on E-Bay. I believe it is a older model then the gun (1964),but I like the looks of this over the 64 version with the big front shade on it.

Got out to shoot this 22 today. The scope is the above Micro-vue 4X. Shot Fed.AutoMatch 22 long rifle at 50 Yards. Supported with front bag.
5 shots group that I am sure would have been better if I wasn't behind the gun.

The 4 shot groups centers will fit behind a dime.
