how many knows what a foot tub is?

I went to tractor supply the other day and "the manager" was at the door. he was probably about 35 years young, he said can I help you? I said yes I need a foot tub he looked at me like a calf looking at a new gate, but said come over here. he took me to the shoe department! I said no it should be where the wash tubs are, again I got a funny look. then I said a galvanized tub, he said oh! then we went to the back and he said this is what I have, I pulled down a the one and only foot tub he had, I said this is a foot tub. he said he had never heard one called that before, I said well today you got educated. it's hard to believe in a couple of generations the knowledge of things that get lost,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

LOL, hard to imagine someone not knowing what a foot tub is. Used to bath in a few different foot tubs at Grandma's house (outdoors at that!) back in the day........when I'd actually fit into one... I have 2 right now......

What do you expect? Our young people have been indoctrinated by teachers and so called professors that sold them on Socialism.

I knew what you were talking about but I have always heard them referred to as just wash tubs.

I remember getting a bath in one when I was a kid (50+ years ago)...But...my family were PA Dutch farmers....I don't think I've seen or heard the phrase "Foot Tub" in a very long time.

I knew them as wash tubs. I never washed in one, but used one to cover my tiller out in the garden during the summer. We had tornadoes pass through one night and I looked far and wide and never found it. Someone a few miles away probably got a new foot tub.

When I was coming up the large one was just a wash tub, the smaller one was the foot tub. T Rex

I used to help my mother, when she took her things to a local craft fair to sell. This young mother, and her daughter came by, and the little girl told her mother, she wanted the little dolls dress. Her mother told her honey
That's not a dolls dress, it's a clothes pin bag . She said what's a clothes pin bag? Her mother had to explain, that when you hang your clothes on a line outside you need clothes pins to hang your clothes.
She said why would you hang your clothes outside, just put them in the dryer.
