Tim... I retired in 2007. Needed something to do. Since I had earned my pilot's license in 1997, I decided to join the Civil Air Patrol. Great organization. Great "bugsmasher" aircraft. Lots of "jobs" available to keep you as busy (or not) as you want. If you have a squadron nearby, check it out.
Just my $.02.
Good luck! Enjoy your retirement!
My God! How little do my countrymen know what precious blessings they are in possession of, and which no other people on earth enjoy! -- Thomas Jefferson
Buy a tuna boat, go to Massachusetts (or in reverse order) and give that incredibly humble pilot/fishing boat capt. on T.V. (Wicked Tuna.. Boat: Tuna.com, Capt. Dave Carraro) a heaping serving of humble pie! I know I wishI could! Ah...sunup and your on the ocean tuna fishing...getting paid to fish!
Anyways, congrats on retirement and welcome to the club.
