Angry Did I ruin my 3031?

OK fellas, appears I pulled my first lame move!
Cleaning up the bench and putting things away, had about 2 to 3.0cc's of IMR 4198 in the trickler, went to put it back in the jug of IMR 4198......................grabbed the full 1.0 lb jug of .....you guessed it.....IMR 3031 and dumped it in! Do I need to pitch the entire pound jug of IMR 3031 or can I mix it up real good and so long as I'm not trying to max out any loads with 3031 get along OK

That's the last time I'll have another powder sitting close by!!!
    Live and learn I reckon.............damn

Charge throwers sometimes will contain a granule or two of whatever powder you last used... sometimes it's hard to get everything out, and it mixes with everything. I haven't seen literally a granule here, or there make a difference. NOW, what you did? I don't know... I'd hate to tell you to toss a whole pound of powder, but man! Maybe dump out half of it if you haven't shook it around too much? I don't know... there are no second chances with reloading.

In my prior post I did not add ( sorry folks) my powder trickler hopper was almost full, I dumped unique powder into 4895!

IMR 4198 is number 73 on the burn rate chart, IMR 3031 is 80. If it was me, I would rather lose the powder to grass fertilizer instead of risking my firearms. I wouldn't risk it...IMHO, you're lucky it wasn't an 8 pounder.

But thats me. Such a small amount...but who knows for sure.

My guess would be no problem mixed with a pound, but I like my fingers and face enough not to trust my guess and I would just dump the powder and call it a lesson.

No use to tease the demon. Pour it out. Could get real nasty.
