    Brass, Powder, Bullets

I have been a Marlin Fan for years. I just now am at the point in my life that I can now start a collection. I own 2 30-30 and 2 35es. I just purchased a 45 LC with the cowboy action and rear peep site, have a lead on a 44, 45-70 and a 308. I have re-loaded all my own brass for the 30-30 and 35, I am new to the 45LC, I use leverevolution powder and the ftx bullets with Hornady brass. I have read a lot of conflicting stories of what to use. Just looking for some advise and experience. Thanks in advance for all responses.

For mild easy accurate load try Unique...10 grains in MY rifle do very well and is easy to shoot.

Another vote for Unique, I use it for nearly everything with only a few exceptions. Welcome to MO, post some photos when you can!

Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.

there are many very good powders and bullets available more than ever before. hot loads, h110/w296 mag primers recommended has very limited load range cannot be downloaded, there is AA9 and 4100/enforcer, alliant 300mp, 2400 an old standard for magnum pistol rounds can be downloaded. for midrange and light loads there are many powders from green dot and herco to be86 and cfepistol, universal clays and unique is good for many many many loads inc jacketed and cast pistol and even cast rifle loads. I have some of the ftx bullets but am kind of weary of them unless used right away as there is no info on the gummy tip and how long it will last, rubber hardens over time but flat nose lead or jacketed bullets stay the same forever. all the powder manufacturers have load data online and it is easy to access. My suggestion is try a little bit of many components for me I would get some supplies every month or so and built up a library of powders, and other components trying different loadings and getting to shoot often as I could. For handgun bullets zero thru rozedist is a very good source and for brass there is none better than direct from starline. Then when shortages hit you don't have anything to worry about. I guess I was lucky my dad got me into reloading when I was about 11 or 12. just my $0.02
