    A can will last a good long time and it will tend to harden up. If this happens just add some turpentine and stir it into the wax to soften it up again.

    I've never used it on guns but I use it for all my knives ( I collect them) and their sheaths. I do the blades and the handles. Never had any problems with rust or stains. Even with long term storage. I'll have to start using it on my firearms also.
