    Interesting all the variations in name depending on where you are. Goes back to the days before the USA became homogenized.

    I have never harvested an animal but I have KILLED QUITE A FEW !

    I would rather have a gun in my hand than a cop on the phone,,,,,,,,,

    Like DRM, I’ve always called these “pumpkinseeds”, and the others (that are not quite as colorful) “bluegills”. If you want to do the work they’re all delicious.

    Find them on the beds & catch with a fly rod or ultra lite rig they put up a good fight.
