    Wildlife along the River

Took the kayak out on the Columbia River this morning, and a bit of the Wenatchee River as well. Went about 5 miles total - what a great workout! Thoroughly enjoyed. Then took a short hike near the confluence of the two rivers. Got some decent photos this morning. Highlights were eagles, osprey, and mule deer, including a brief glimpse of a spotted fawn.

For a sidearm today, I chose my 9mm Kahr. The pistol is compact, lightweight, and made of stainless & plastic for the most part. The holster is kydex. I think it's a good choice for kayaking.

    Regards, Guy

Got out on the Columbia and the Wenatchee rivers again today. What a morning! Covered 7.6 miles. Flow from the upstream dam on the Columbia was STRONG. Taught me a bit about the kayak, currents, and the limits of my own strength.

Felt comfortable enough to take the good camera out in the kayak this morning. Got some wildlife photos:

Interesting little back-channel, near the confluence of the two rivers:

A very curious doe. She came over to see what the heck I was

Am so doggone glad I bought this thing! Brought it home a week ago and have been out three times now:
