South NJ Clay Shoot and BBQ 10/13/18

If anyone is interested; I, and a few other guys from my NJ forum are hosting an informal shotgun clay shoot, followed by a BBQ on 10/13. This is a free event.

The event is open to shooters of all experience levels. In fact, even if you don't own a shotgun and just want to try shooting clays, you are welcomed to attend. We have a few expert shooters in our ranks to help noobs, and everyone breaks some clay before the day is over. It's also a good opportunity to try out different shotguns, from $200 rescues to $3,000 fine grade trap guns, our members are very generous and rarely turn down a request. We do have women participants, so if you want to bring your best gal, or if you are a gal, then by all means, come and have some fun.

We are expecting 20 to 30 people to attend.

It is a good time. Like I said, very informal, we don't try to shoot regulation trap or anything like that and have three or four throwers set up with doubles set up at one of the tables. We have these shoots in north and south Jersey on alternating months and whoever shows up, shows up. The first shoot each year is usually a big gathering with lunch (usually hotdogs) in the field, lots of cabin fever and people want to get out there. This is the first year we are sort of ending the season with a big BBQ.

We've introduced a lot of shooters to clays and help them with everything from getting over flinching to proper leading. We also have a couple expert shooters that help the more advanced shooters improve too. But most of all, the meetups are mainly a social thing, very casual.
