Opinions on 3x9x32 scope for 30-30 use

Just wondering what thoughts are on using a 3x9x32 scope for our 30-30s.

Although I would prefer 2-7x, a 3-9x would work fine.

If it works for you, that is all that matters.

The Gene Pool is in need of a lot of Chlorine!

Better yet, drain the entire pool!

I prefer the 2-7 class scopes for my Marlins. My favorite is the Nikon 2-8x32 Monarch 3 BDC but it's been discontinued. If I knew I would have bought a few. I bought a couple of Burris 2-7x35 Fullfield E1 scopes which are nice but not as nice as the Monarch 3.

The 2-8x32 Monarch 3 was just about the perfect lever gun scope IMO. It is tough, has great glass, plenty of zoom range with compact size and the eye relief remains constant when the zoom changes. Very few scopes have that great feature. You can still get the Monarch 3 in 3-10x42 but I think that's too big for a lever gun.

If you are going to scope a 30-30 some nice 1X4 or 1X6 small scopes are now in use which would seem to be perfect for the way most 30-30 leverguns will get used.

A 2x7x32 scope is what I would use, not too big or heavy for 30-30. You can adjust the scopes power according to the area you are hunting.

I run a 2x7x32 on mine and use the 2 power the most for 100 yard and under shots, but have turned it up as far 7 for 300 yard dingers...

I like my 2x7 because I shoot with both eyes open and can pick up the cross hairs faster. If you like the 3x9's I say go for it, it's about what you like.
