H&R Handi Rifle in 270 issues?

I have been told that the chamber pressure generated by the 270 Winchester cartridge is too much stress for the Handi platform. It alledgedy causes frame stretching. Anyone had this experience?

I had problems with it popping open with a 22-250. This was on the SB1?? frame
After looking at the lock up I decided to move it on. I do not feel it is something I want in front of my face.

I had a nickel SB2 frame with a stainless 270 barrel and it worked just fine. Wound up selling the outfit but would love to find another.

I had one brought in that was developing excessive head space, .243. I had to braze forearm bushing on several 12g and one 45/70. There are a lot of 22 Hornets & 223s around local and seems to be no trouble with them. The 223s have had many rounds through them.

I would never shoot a HPR barrel on a SB1 receiver as they were made for shotguns and low pressure rifles only. That and many of the SB1s have large firing pins that can be akin to pressure issues with some primers.
