200 meter Rimfire Varmint Silhouette Shoot

Thinking of hosting a Rimfire Varmint Silhouette shoot after the Club Shortrange Silhouette shoot.
1/5 size targets at 200 meter.
    Any rimfire cartridge. 22lr, 22 mag, 17HMR, 17warm, Rem 5mm.

Front rest only. Sticks, bags, bi-pod, Rock whatever.

    Any thoughts

our club does very similar to that, my guess is the .17hmr will win more than half, scoring around 25.

I would limit it to just 22 LR. Too much advantage to the other calibers. Faster, more knock down energy, less wind drift, etc.

Everyone who would want to shoot will have a 22 LR. Not so the 17's, or 22 mag. As pricey and as hard to find as 5mm is , I doubt anyone will want to shoot that caliber. I wouldn't care to compete against the others if I only had a 22 LR, and I don't have any of the others.

    Just sayin'.

it has worked out for our club allowing all, .22mag has not won that I know of.

Everyone would shoot together but in their own class. Sights and caliber,
There already plenty of 22lr only shoots.
Nothing for the long-range abilities of the two 17 caliber rimfires.

Half size PC Rams won't go over with a fragmenting 17 cal bullet.
And they go through the thinner Rimfire targets at regular distances.

1/5 size targets at 200 meters is like 1/2 size at 500 meters like the long range benchrest shoots.

you won't have to make classes, and you won't be able to see them with Irons, you can just leave it wide open and sometimes the good shooters are going to win with good lr ammo, and sometimes the .17hmr will win, maybe .22mag or something else, it has been great fun here, and you are right, it's a great way to include the .17's and get young people involved.

Black Powder Catridge 22lr shoot 2/5 (.40) targets out up to 200 meter line.

You betcha. My 17 pops golf balls all day at ranges in excess of 100 meters. The Sweet 17 scope is amazing.
