I may try some for chickens and pigs in the Winchester .30-30

Off-season reloading project, if I get the time and weather to work on it.
I found I could get my Berry’s 30 cal to shoot to the same place as factory 150s in my 30 30 with 21 grains n110. Not sure how fast it was. I loaded my rem 700 300 blackout with 15 grains n110 and the Berry’s it shot ok but when I chronied it they were at 1860 FPS I didn’t know they were going that fast so I backed off to 14 grains and cut the group size in half. I think 1860 was a bit fast for the tight twist.

I be shooting Barry's plated in two rifles this weekend's West Coast Lever Action Regional.
    350g 45-70 and 158g 357.
    BOTH at 22lr speeds.

I settled on the .30 caliber plated 150s at chickens and pigs, with a mild charge off h4895. I think ballpark 1600 fps . In my rifle, 15 gr of 2400 and 18 gr of h4198 both made about 1650 fps.

    PAndy,

    Update from my last post.

I have settled on using the 150 gr for the Turkeys and Pigs. The 110 gr Berry's carbine round nose is now my Chicken and Pig bullet. The 110gr over 10.2 gr of Unique and Win Large Pistol gives me 1,750 fps through a 24" barrel with great accuracy. All pigs have fallen off the stand, even low hits.
