    I have a 2016 KLR. It’s a blast to ride. To old to really ride it like it should be rode (like ya stole it) lol... but I do enjoy ridin it.

    A DL650 "Wee Strom" here since 2004. It's not bad off road (no "hard stuff" for me), but a very capable and smooth ride on asphalt. I've been riding off and on over 60 years with a bunch of different styled bikes, but the V-strom is the most comfortable, reliable, and capable I've owned for a variety of tasks. "Ride on"!

    Let me see if I can remember everything in the stable.

    2 x 1995 KLX 650C. Dad liked mine so much, one fathers day I got him one.
    2004 Honda XR650R. Tagged and Motarded.
    2001 BMW F650 Dakar.
    2006 KTM 640 Adventure.
    2004 KTM 450 EXC. Total ground up rebuild in 2016.

    Street.
    2003 BMW Randy Mamola Boxer Cup Race Replica 1100S.
    1999 Cagiva Gran Canyon.

    Since 2000 we have been going to Moab Utah and tearing up the trails out there. First few years we went every year. Now we go everyother year and put in some Colorado riding inbetween. We hit Oark Arkansas quite a bit too. Mosty the 450 does all this work.
    The Dakar is working its way to being in EVERY State in the US. Ive been to every state in the US on a bike but the Dakar has a few left. I toured on the Boxer Cup for a few years as well. Been to every Province in Canada except one. Been from Keywest to the Artic Ocean and Nova Scotia to Mexico. Dakar does all the touring anymore.

    Past bikes
    1984 Honda XR650L. LOVE this bike.
    1989 Harley 1200 Sporster. It taught me that I hate Chrome and Chrome Spokes.
    2001 Honda 929RR. Thank God I didnt die on this thing. Its a miracle as I tried to show Deals Gap who was boss more than once.
    1989 Honda CBR 600. Miss this bike the most!!!

    I was going to do Alaska again for my 50th Birthday coming up this next year. But my aging father has called me home. Ive been gone for 20 some years and as of 6 months ago took over the farming duities. Dad just wants to slow down now and take it easy. We got some animals that need attention as most farms do and takes up all my time. Been thinking about getting rid of several bikes and replacing with one do all bike. The new Honda Africa Twin has peaked my interest alot lately.

    I ran out of garage space and decided to sell most of them off. I used the money to buy a 2017 KTM 1290 Super Adventure R. I still have a little KDX200 to ride with my 18yr son who has a DRZ400. My wife is down to a Ducati Monster. We are down to 4 bikes not including my son's old CR60r that we are going to restore as a project some day. Probably when he has his own children someday. I comb the local Craigslist ads almost daily but since picking up the KTM, I'm really content and not as excited about buying anything else. Not like looking at old lever actions. I've developed quite the taste for anything in 45-70. I would like to get a 30WCF pre 1900 some day.

    Been riding dual sports since 1974 when I bought a 1 year old Suzuki TS 185. Had a fair number of bikes as my primary form of transport since that time. Always have come back to dual sports as my favorite. Currently riding a Kawasaki KLR 650 built in 2000. Put better suspension, brakes, tank, fairing and seat on it on it; it is still my primary form of transportation. Riding clothes are much better than the Levis and Levi or leather jacket with work boots I used to ride in. Now when it is raining I can arrive without getting soaked!

    That's the truth. Years of riding with the Harley crowd it was t-shirts, jeans & sunglasses. Now I really enjoy a full face helmet & a gore-tex jacket. Especially in the rain! I'm not up to all the riding gear but working on it...

    I ride a Suzuki DR 650 SE and a Honda CBR 1000 RR. Hows that for dual sport ? I can't stay off the CBR and the DR never gets washed.

    newer xr650l and love it,but had to lower it. I find myself leaving my Harley sit and riding it.
