    Motocross France

Just back from a great motocross weekend in France. I was invited to watch a great nephew race. He had a tumble, got carried to the medics tent and went on to race again an hour later. Having said that we know how he will feel next morning. I took some pics for anyone interested.

I was wondering if I was the next Roger DeCoster till I watched a little 10 year old boy blow me away like I wasn't even moving.

Actually, I forgot to mention, on the drive back to the hotel late at night, after BBQ etc I saw quite a sight. Walking across the road in front of our car was a wild boar. A huge beast, one of the biggest I ever saw. Now where is my 1894 when I need it. Having said that, I am not sure a .357 would reliably take it. It would kill it, but given the boars size and weight it may have a mile or three left in it. Now my K98.....

When I was younger I had a lot of friends who ran motocross. They competed and were pretty successful. I liked to ride bikes too but my father wouldn't allow me to get one. These days you hardly see dirt bikes. I see UTVs and ATVs abound. As an older guy I am looking hard at the UTV side by sides. If I ever get some land I will probably buy one. Then again I like the exercise I get walking around.

Looks like you had a great weekend. Glad you nephew wasn't seriously hurt.

Sounds like a great time. Never been to a “big time” motor cross race, though I always wanted to. Have made a SuperCross race or two. Did some short track racing many years ago, should’ve done motocross.....I was much more suited for it! The joys of 20-20 hindsight! memtb

I live a few miles from the Unadilla Motocross track. Every summer we host one of the big races. It is a very unappreciated spectator sport.
