    Kel-Tec CMR30?

Been looking for a "pistol caliber carbine" lately . . .

Started looking at the Marlin Camp 9, but decided it's a touch too expensive and not exactly the greatest in the reliability department.

Then I looked at the Kel-Tec SUB2000, but decided it was a little too "out there" for me.

Finally landed on the Kel-Tec CMR30. It sounds good. Little put off by the fact that it's 22WMR, but you don't lose a whole lot of energy over the 9mm. They seem accurate and reliable.

Anybody have any experienced with these?

    Larry

PS: I thought about posting this in the "Camp 9 forum" or maybe the "22 Magnum forum", but ended up here.

I have one. I wouldn't trade for it. It's my tractor gun and takes abuse real well. I have a red dot on it and it is extremely accurate with it. My one complaint "was" the heel style magazine release. I resolved that by replacing the floor plate of the magazines with the Tandemkross aftermarket plates that protect the release button.

    Ruger has a 9mm take-down I’ve been eying. They’re offered with a traditional stock and pistol-grip version.

Comes with a Glock magazine well adapter. Do they still make 30-round Glock mags? I honestly don’t know.

    Always wanted one!!

They are not much different than a PMR30.... with longer barrel and stock. The PMR is absolutely my favorite handgun. I'm sure the CMR would be no different. I would already own one but I have a Savage A22WMR and that my ONLY reason for not buying a CMR.....yet....

    30 rounds of 22mag? .....whats a 9mm?

It looks really pleasing to my eye.

I looked at a half dozen online reviews. All but one talked about the great reliability. The one that didn't, seemed like there may have been an issue with the gun from the get go.

Every one I know who has one (8+) love 'em! I own several Kel-Tec tools. Many scorn their 'Kel-Tekian' plastic parts with lots of buttonhead socket screws holding them together! Not so pretty. Their art is with their clever, unique answers to questions we never thought of. I own several and would not trade them off. All mine are 'Utterly reliable!'
