    Marlin 36 with pics now...

    I finally got pictures Marlin 36 - A- DL - 3030 --o---A.

    serial looks like G 87XX

    36-A-DL- is 24" bbl and 2/3 tube? But what year

    It looks like it was buffed and reblued and the stock can't be original.

    Any idea on year? that serial number site says g is 1950 if it's a 336

    In my opinion, it is probably a "C", which would make the year of manufacture 1945.
    A picture of the letter and first couple of numbers of the serial number would help us help you figure it out.
    I have a model 36 from '45, and that "C" could easily look like a "G".
    Congrats on a nice rifle. Use and enjoy.

    36 was replaced by the 336 in 1948 so it is most likley a "C" from 1945.

    The buttplate says Fajen :-) It is a 3 3/16 stock al la 336
