Yeah I forgot it was kinda slow to join.

Posted a link to this thread since you're having trouble with the pics. Hopefully you'll get some feedback

I understand. Yup. I am not going to do anything with it until I find out for definite sure that these mean.
    It could be something awesome.

It is chilly and raining today, so what better time to tear it down and get numbers of everything
    (pending honey-do list, of course)

I am in debt to you, my friend.

here are some more taken from a different angle and straight down.
It looks like the cartouches were made more readable by someone tracing over the with a series of dots.

Thank you for all your effort, jeepwm69, but regrettably, I will not be going to that M1 Carbine Collectors site anymore.
I received a PM from a guy there named HUNTERMAN who alluded in his PM he knew my last name by saying his doc's name was Ted (my last name).
Now this is just creepy, and I did not reply.

I sent their Admin an email about it, but I will never go back there again as they have been hacked and have active hackers there.

I guess this will continue to remain a mystery.

UPDATE: I got an email from that site complaining about this post. I stand by it. Not at any time should a member's full name be made available for all to see like it is there. That is why I enjoy this site so much. They hold our privacy as a top priority.

Greetings everyone, I am one of the admins for the Carbine Collectors Club forum.

It is with great disdain that I have to come here and set the record straight.

Retired joined our forum looking for instant answers.
When he registered he put his full name in a field that is viewable to registered members.

When a member trying to help him PMed him and using his full name he assumed the forum was hacked.

The assertion that the forum is hacked or that it has hackers is ludicrous.

In email exchanges we discussed this and his last name was removed from view.

In his haste he apparently posted in several locations and slandered a well respected member, known on several forums.

The problem is that Retired seems to have a problem with that member defending his reputation.

I had asked that he follow up on posts here and anywhere else that he made erroneous claims about the forums security, yet here he is doubling down on his slanderous and liable claims, presumably do to his unfounded issue with a member.

Admins and Mods, I do apologize for having to post this publicly. The club has been doing research on the M1 carbine for over 40 years. I am sure some here are familiar with our Carbine Club newsletters.
It is this reason that I post, to set the record straight on what transpired.

I will gladly share the emails with verified admins if need be to show what was said rather than hashing it out any further in public.

I am thinking about taking it around to various gun shows. Maybe someone might shed so light on it there.
So far the intenet is a bust.

...and YES, I will keep everyone updated.
